Frequently Asked Questions

The following FAQs relate to our equipment hire service only:

You will need an account with us if you wish to reserve equipment for hire. Registration is free and takes less than a minute. You can either create an account on the My Account Page, or alternatively you can create an account during the checkout process. If you choose to reserve items over the phone, we will create an account for you.

Anyone over the age of 18 can hire equipment from us. We hire out equipment to private clients, event organisers, and corporate/ business clients.
 
In order to hire from us, you will need an account, and will need to provide us with your personal details to prove your identity – see our Hire Policy for more information.

Yes, we are open on Sundays for collection and return of equipment. Ideally, returns need to be made between 10 am and 1 pm, but we can usually be quite flexible, so please let us know if these times aren’t suitable for you.

We provide an in-house delivery service that includes subsequent collection of equipment at the end of your hire period. This service is available throughout East Anglia, Essex and London. If booking online, you can add this service to your order at the checkout. Prices start from £18 (including vat) per order for the Cambridge and Huntingdon areas and delivery is free on all orders over £350. For a map of all delivery zones and pricing, please click here.

Yes, we offer an installation service at a flat rate of £24 (including vat) per order. We will arrive at your venue at a time to suit you to set everything up for you. We will then pack everything away for you after your event has finished (either straight afterwards if your event ends at/before midnight, or the following day). This service is available for booking as an extra service for orders that are placed for delivery. Please click here to add this service to your order.

Yes, we will be more than happy to give you a demonstration on how to use the equipment. We can either do this when you come to collect from us, or if you have opted for delivery your delivery driver can show you how to use the equipment at the time of delivery.

The vast majority of our hire equipment is very easy to use and requires no former knowledge or previous experience. However, if you do get stuck, we are available 24/7 for tech support – just call us on 01223 755944 (Option 1 out of hours). We also provide useful set-up guides, videos and instruction manuals that are available to view online or to download from nearly every product page.

Equipment is available for collection from us or can be delivered to you, between 12 noon and 6 pm on your hire start date.

We can usually be quite flexible with these timings though, so please let us know if they don’t suit you, as we may well be able to arrange an alternative time.

Equipment should be returned to us between 9 am and 12 noon on your hire end date. For delivery orders, we can either collect equipment immediately after your event has ended (arrival by 12 midnight at the latest unless otherwise agreed) or we can collect the following day between 9 am and 12 noon.

We can usually be quite flexible with these timings though, so please let us know if they don’t suit you, as we may well be able to arrange an alternative time.

We require a 30% deposit at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due at any point on or before your hire date. Payment must be made in full before we release any equipment to your care.

The following payment methods are accepted: BACS transfer, Credit/ Debit Card payment (either online or over the phone) or PayPal.

Cards accepted: Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, JCB.

Regretfully, we are unable to accept cash as a form of payment.

You will need to provide us with your name, email address, telephone number and home address (or company address if you are a business customer).

You will also need to show us proof of I.D. (valid passport or photo driving license) and proof of address (utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 6 months), before we release any equipment to your care. You can either send us copies of these in advance or we will make a copy when you come to collect equipment.

We reserve the right to ask for a security deposit. This is required entirely at our discretion, and if required, the deposit will be taken in the form of an authorisation by credit card. The security deposit authorisation will be cancelled upon return of all items of equipment in satisfactory condition.
 
The total value of the security deposit will not exceed a total of 50% of the manufacturer’s RRP for all equipment to be hired.
