About The Roland V-80HD
The Roland V-80HD is a professional-grade video switcher, designed for live events, web streaming, and studio production. In addition to its advanced video switching capabilities, the V-80HD offers multi-channel audio mixing, built-in effects, and integrated control for PTZ cameras, streamlining even the most complex productions. With the companion Graphics Presenter software, you can further enhance productions with impressive titles, motion graphics, and more. It supports direct streaming to major platforms including YouTube, along with a built-in recording function that lets you capture the program output directly onto an SD card.
Seamless Audio and Video Integration
Through a brand partnership between Yamaha and Roland, the DM3 and V-80HD are programmed to be able to communicate directly with each other via network protocols, providing seamless integration between audio mixing and video switching.
This collaboration means you can assign DM3 channels to control V-80HD audio levels and channel mutes directly from the mixer, and adjusting a fader or pressing "On" or "Mute" on either device instantly reflects on the other.
What’s more, you can use assignable pads or macros on the V-80HD to recall scene memories from the DM3. This is especially useful for switching entire audio setups between segments during live productions.
The collaboration supports flexible audio routing, so you can use the DM3 as the audio mixer for all your microphones and external audio sources, or control HDMI/SDI audio sources within the V-80HD directly from the DM3. You can even combine both approaches together, for maximum flexibility.
This integration allows for highly efficient control, ideal for smaller productions with single-operator setups, where one technician needs to be able to control both audio and video, but it’s still extremely useful for dual-operator productions, where responsibilities are divided, as it allows for better overall control over audio sources, particularly from audio sources from video playback.
This rich feature set and enhanced integration makes the DM3 an ideal choice for a production where more microphones and audio inputs are required than the V-80HD natively supports.
