AV Xpert Complete Factory Background Music System Installation

We recently completed the installation of a background music system for Beamglow at their factory in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire. This new audio installation was designed to enhance the working environment for their team and improve productivity in the factory.

Overview

Beamglow have a long-standing commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture and achieving high operational standards. They contacted AV Xpert about the possibility of installing a sound system that would allow them to play background music for the factory staff to listen to, with a view to enhancing the working environment, improving productivity and boosting employee morale.

The Project

AV Xpert installed a background music system in the factory, designed to allow ambient music to be played unobtrusively throughout the space. Our system featured advanced multi-zone functionality, allowing different areas to play audio sources at separate volume levels.

In the initial phase of the project, our technicians installed a comprehensive cabling infrastructure, dividing the factory into two dedicated zones: one for the print area and one for the finishing area. These zones were selected due to the varying volume needed in the respective areas, created by the different noise levels of the machinery in each location.

Once all cabling was in place, we then installed a total of 13 Biamp speakers, strategically mounted at key locations and at varying heights to ensure consistent, high-quality audio coverage throughout the facility.

Finally, an AV rack was installed in the Production Office at the centre of the factory, where the system is managed. This means that the audio source and volume settings for each zone can be controlled by management staff from their office.

Beamglow have opted to use a Mini PC as the primary source for their Background Music System, using a web browser to access internet radio.

On-Going Support

At AV Xpert, we pride ourselves on our service delivery, and we strive to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients.

For this project, the client stipulated an urgent need for the installation to be completed before production started to ramp up to full capacity, in their busiest summer period. Our team worked quickly to install the cabling and speakers within two days of the order being accepted and worked throughout the evening and into the night to prevent disruption to the operating schedule of machinery in the factory.

We had completed the background music system installation within a week of the initial enquiry, demonstrating our commitment to efficiency and responsiveness.

Since the installation of the background music system, we have provided ongoing technical support, including a recent site visit from our technicians to adjust speaker settings, now that the system has been in place and operating, to ensure optimum performance.

As with all our commercial AV installation projects, our customer has benefited from a complimentary one-year on-site callout warranty and priority technical support line, as standard, with temporary loan equipment available in the unlikely event of any issues arising with the installed equipment.

The End Result

The completed installation at Beamglow has successfully met the project objectives, delivering a customised background music system that enhances the overall working environment within the business. The solution provides unobtrusive, discreet audio throughout the factory, contributing to improved staff morale and productivity, and has already received significant positive feedback from employees.
